Back to Square 1
You can’t run away from your problems…Even though I was in one of the coolest cities in the country (Austin) and living in the “best years of my life” (college), the eating disorder obsessions did not get better.
The summer before my senior year of highschool, I hit a hard relapse when I moved to NYC to study journalims at Columbia University. Living on my own for the first time, my anorexia quickly transitioned to orthorexia and exercise bulimia, and I found myself eating 0-carbs and working out 3-4 hours most days with the goal to “be the fittest I’ve ever been in my life.”
The remainder of highschool into this picture (the first week at college in Austin, Texas), my body was back in the war for its life.
The day before my first day of classes of Freshman year, I went to a routine doctor check up, and, with a heart rate in the 30’s and 40’s, I did not come back out.
