I love sunrises and sunsets.

What human being doesn’t?

There’s something about looking up at the sky and marveling the most glorious, unique painting that graces each day in different pigments, strokes and patterns.

However, there are many days I get caught up in the rat race of life that I fail to…look up.

Has that ever happened to you?

Six a.m. sounds on the alarm clock, and from sun up, to sun down, you are in it to win it—head down, brain powered on, and “get er done mode” turn up—high.

We bobble along in our cars or planes and trains to the next place, the next to do.

We make a laundry list of tasks to check off, not even basking in the moment.

We show up to a lunch date or office meeting or social meet-up, still connected to our phones or thinking about the next thing.

And we…forget to notice the things around us.

Especially the beautiful things—like sunsets.

#thrivelife project: Conduct a beauty scavenger hunt today.

Find five unexpected beautiful things today.

Anything.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder:

  • A sweet hug of a couple
  • An older lady’s smile and glow
  • A giggling child
  • A funky piece of art or architecture
  • A piece of fresh, in season fruit
  • Blooming flowers
  • Someone doing their gift, their art—their passions
  • A pretty sunrise or sunset

Take pics and keep tabs of what you find today.
