Welcome to Day 11 of the #thrivelife project, a 30-day social media campaign, empowering you to live bigger (and get outside your comfort zone).
Over the course of 30 days, you are getting a daily #thrivelife project to complete [random acts of kindness (for others and yourself)] with the call to action to be the change you wish to see in the world.
There’s a ton of clutter and noise vying for our attention every day in the social media and culture spheres. We compare ourselves to others who have it all together
- Hot bods
- Beautiful food and perfectly assembled dishes
- Happily-ever-after endings
- Adorable puppies
- Backsquat PR’s
- Flat stomachs
- Success
And when we compare ourselves, we neglect ourselves (without even trying).
Today, your #thrivelife project is dedicated to helping you reset for the week with a little…meditation.
Meditation gets a voo-doo rep for being “hippie” or only-for-Buddha, but that is far from the case.
Meditation involves a conscious awareness of your body, mind and soul…often closing your eyes, focusing on your breath—your inhales and exhales…and getting a “recharge” for your batteries.
Did you know that 20-minutes of meditation is equivalent to 4 hours of sleep? So just 5-minutes of meditation is equivalent to 1 hour.
How cool is that?!
Get yo’ mind and energy right by practicing quiet, uninterrupted 5-20 minutes at least once per day.
