Happy Fri-yay!
Man oh man, how the weeks fly by!
Thanksgiving 2016—blink—already come and gone!
Now it’s T-minus 4 weeks until the “new year”—but who’s counting?
Have you caught holiday fever yet?
It’s easy to do.
During the time between Thanksgiving and “Happy New Year!” something strange happens in our society: Everyone is seemingly on vacation.
I used to hate that about this time of year. A go-getter by nature, this former “type-A” gal hated being out of routine—wake up people, I’d think!
As I’ve gotten older (oh, so wise) and seasoned though, I’ve realized that there is beauty in the power of the PAUSE—that simple respite, like now, during the “holiday season,” when “holiday fever” is so contagious (Like playing hookey from work, spending more time with family and friends, and silly tacky Christmas sweater parties).
Just like in our workouts, we need rest days or days of less intense work (in order to come back stronger), I am learning to EMBRACE the “down time” and holiday season a bit more with open arms…
So what are you doing for FUN, relaxation and PAUSE this weekend?
It’s easy to also get caught up in the STRESS of the holidays, and for that very reason, I created Thrive’s HOLIDAY SURVIVAL GUIDE—Packed with healthy eats and 20 different workouts to get your blood flowing, stress levels down and heart merry and happy during the holiday season (no matter what your schedule or travels look like).
And before you head into the weekend, here is the latest of what you missed on the blog this week and around the web:

Fuel Up Tip: Use digestive enzymes to help digest your foods better, like Spectmazyme Gluten Digest: These are the best digestive enzymes to combat the Holiday Party food comas, extra gluten and sugars around. (Pop one to two of these to help boost digestion during the holiday festivities)
Sweat Tip: No time to shower after the gym? Girl, you don’t sweat, you glow anyway! But in any event, for my hair, I always carry a brush with me in my gym bag, and there’s nothing like running some warm air from a blow dryer through your hair to give it a fresh look (without even needing to shower). As for your makeup, run your fingers through some water to smear any face makeup back in its place, and dust your face with some of this awesome bronzer/blush duo illuminator by BECCA Cosmetics
Mind Tip: Conflicted over what to choose for dinner at the restaurant? Or whether or not you can justify a cookie at the holiday party? Ask yourself this simple question: “What would healthy me do?”—the healthy, thriving version of you that you want to be. Chances are she has grace with herself for the occasional cookie…doesn’t let a menu trip her up…and she speaks kindly and graciously to herself. Pretend to be her today. So as we think, therefore we become (80/20 balance!)
